Job: Computer & Storage R&D Technician/Engineer

Aberdeen LLC is a manufacturer of general purpose computer servers and
storage servers.

We are looking for an energetic, creative technician/engineer who is
totally immersed in the latest state-of-the-art server technology.

DUTIES:

Responsible for contributing to the ongoing advancement of Aberdeen’s
product offering with activities to include, but not limited to:

• Propose new technologies for inclusion in Aberdeen’s product offering.
• Test and benchmark products internally proposed as new products.
• Test and benchmark products sent to us for evaluation by existing vendors.
• Work with Aberdeen’s sales force in pre-sales configurations.
• Work with Aberdeen’s prospects in pre-sales discussions.
• Work with Aberdeen’s customers in post-sales discussions in
conjunction with Aberdeen’s Technical Support personnel.
• Perform certification testing and submission of Aberdeen products to
Microsoft, VMware and others for their official certification.
• Must be available for periodic overtime as reasonably requested to
meet requirements. This may include weekday evening and weekend hours.
• Other related duties as reasonably requested toward the goal of
Aberdeen’s overall success.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A very strong working knowledge in all technical aspects of computer
servers and storage servers.
• A solid working knowledge of operating systems – Microsoft, Linux,
VMware, etc.
• A solid working knowledge of file systems – NFS, ZFS, etc.
• A solid working knowledge of storage environments – NAS, SAN, DAS, etc.
• A solid working knowledge of storage infrastructure – SAS, Fibre, iSCSI, etc
• A solid working knowledge of storage configurations – RAID Levels,
Volumes/Partitions, Caching, etc
• The ability to write comprehensive documents that are both
technically and grammatically correct.
• A Microsoft MCSE certification is a must. Any other similar
certifications are a plus.
