3) Verbal and Written Assessment Test as Applicable
4) Story Reading
5) Lunch Break
6) Pronunciation of Letters
7) Watching Videos of “Adam Olacak Cocuk” (Contingent upon the age groups, older students will work on a project to be determined at this time slot)
8) Homework Assignment: A favorite toy/book to be brought in for the next class session to tell a story in Turkish about the toy’s significance

October 10, 2009
1) Recitation of “Istiklal Marsi”
2) Show and Tell Homework Assignment
3) Where is Turkiye? Who is Ataturk? Class Discussion
4) Story Reading
5) Lunch Break
6) Reviewing Pronunciation of Letters and Vocabulary practice
7) Learning to sing “Daha Dun Annemizin”
8) Watching Videos of “Susam Sokagi” (Contingent upon the age groups, older students will work on a project to be determined at this time slot)
9) Homework Assignment: Memorize “Daha Dun Annemizin” song to be able to recite in the next class meeting and Learning Which Cities Our Parents Are from in Turkey?

October 24, 2009
1) Recitation of “Istiklal Marsi”
2) Song singing – “Daha Dun Annemizin”
3) Which City Are My Parents From? Discussing highlights of the cities in Turkey and students finding the cities on the map, drawing pictures of the highlights.
4) Lunch Break
5) Reviewing Pronunciation of Letters and Vocabulary practice
6) Playing spelling game
7) Homework Assignment: Students to read a story that is assigned to read out loud in the next class session. (For students that don’t know how to read or write they will be given an assignment to draw a picture of their families where we will write all the family members in Turkish)

November 7, 2009

2) Reading assigned stories and discussing pictures drawn in Turkish
3) Learning to sing “Ali Babanin Ciftligi”
4) Lunch Break
5) Reviewing Pronunciation of Letters and Vocabulary practice
6) Watching Videos of “Adam Olacak Cocuk”
7) Homework Assignment: Memorize “Ali Babanin Ciftligi” song to be able to recite in the next class meeting

November 21, 2009
1) Recitation of “Istiklal Marsi”
2) Vocabulary quiz
3) Song Singing – “Ali Babanin Ciftligi”
4) Lunch Break
5) Going over pronunciation of numbers (Goal is to learn to count until 50)
6) Drawing pictures of animals and labeling them in Turkish
7) Homework Assignment: Learn to count until 50 by next class session

December 5, 2009
1) Recitation of “Istiklal Marsi”
2) Number counting quiz
3) Learning the four seasons and discussing what we do, what grows during the different seasons in Turkey
4) Lunch Break
5) Vocabulary practice
6) Learning to sing “Mini Mini Bir Kus”
7) Homework Assignment: Memorize “Mini Mini Bir Kus” song to be able to recite in the next class meeting

December 19, 2009
This day will be reserved for the students to recite songs they have learned, to tell stories and to compete in a “Spelling Bee Contest” with their parents being the audience. A Diploma will be distributed to the students and a prize will be awarded to the winner of the “Spelling Bee Contest”.
